Bishop-Wisecarver has been a proud sponsor of the FIRST Robotics Challenge program for 14 years donating supplies, money, mentoring and encouragement at a national and regional level. In 2021, we sponsored five local teams and Pittsburg High School is our final one in the spotlight for this year. Take a few minutes to read and cheer on these students, not just for FIRST, but for all that is ahead of them.

We may be headed into the deep winter months, but the sights and sounds of summer are sticking with us this year! In late July, Bishop-Wisecarver was a collaborative partner for a new two-week Robotics Summer Camp for local high school students and we can still hear their problem solving discussions and see their excitement as their projects were planned and tested.

It’s time to be inspired! Don’t miss this chance to learn about this FIRST Robotics Challenge high school team and how these students - our future leaders! - not only competed in a STEM challenge, but did so while dealing with the multiple challenges of COVID.

Posted: December 22, 2020||Hopefully, all your shopping is complete for 2020, but let us give you a head start on that holiday wish list for next year: Consider a vibrating pillow designed to give you a better night sleep for a more productive day in front of the computer. While it isn’t actually in production (yet!) this was the winning idea submitted by Ramzi Latreche, a senior at Ygnacio Valley High School in California, for the inaugural Wisecarver Innovation Award student design contest.

At Bishop-Wisecarver, we LOVE celebrating MFGDay! Our team looks forward to it each year and spends months planning new ways to showcase what we do as a motion solutions provider, as well as the opportunities of a manufacturing career. This year was one of our largest events to date. So large in fact, that we ended up hosting two days of events at our facility to accommodate everyone interested and ensure they received a personalized, meaningful experience.

This quote is heard in the NAM State of Manufacturing Tour 2019 video highlighting their Creators Wanted campaign and on-site discussions and visits earlier this year with manufacturers, teachers, students, government officials and business leaders from eight states. Bishop-Wisecarver was one of the sites for this year’s visit to California and Pamela Kan, Bishop-Wisecarver President, hosted a roundtable discussion. -
The FIRST robotics challenge kicked off internationally in January and the excitement is still intense! As we enter our 12th year of sponsoring FIRST Robotics teams, we love seeing the students learn new skills and succeed in unexpected challenges. And when teams make it to the championships – that’s a bonus! Congrats to the all-female TigerBots of Notre Dame High School in Belmont, Calif. who made it to the world championships in 2018!Read more »
