Press Release: Bishop-Wisecarver Recognized as Manufacturing Leadership Awards 2020 Winner
Digital Transformation in Finance Department Delivered Significant Benefits Throughout Company, Sets Strong Example for Manufacturing Industry
Pittsburg, Calif. – August 18, 2020 – Bishop-Wisecarver, a trusted industrial automation company offering linear and rotary motion solutions that are expertly designed and delivered to perform, today announced that it has been recognized as a Manufacturing Leadership Awards winner by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). Miguel Danao, Vice President of Finance at Bishop-Wisecarver (BW), received the individual Digital Transformation Leadership Award for successfully leading and implementing operational changes that have resulted in significant cost and time savings in his department and throughout the company.
“As a company, our main focus is providing customers a Signature Experience that includes unparalleled quality, reliability, speed and service to support their individual needs,” said Pamela Kan, President of Bishop-Wisecarver. “Miguel’s leadership on this project is further evidence of this commitment as the technology advancements and operational changes have given each of our departments greater visibility and insights that help us provide quicker, better informed support for each customer.”
Digital Transformation Project Results
The digital transformation effort spearheaded by Danao enabled Bishop-Wisecarver to increase efficiency of its manufacturing shop floor in the assembly process by approximately 30 percent, improve returns (RMA) by 60 percent, improve sales quote-to-close ratio by 10 percent year-over-year, and reduce accounting’s month-end close cycle from 10 business days to a mere three days total. Key to Danao’s leadership success was taking the time to educate employees throughout the company on the goals and benefits of the new technology, as well as the best ways to utilize the data for success, thus empowering each department to recognize and make their own changes.
In a culture of data-driven decision-making, the finance team now provides enhanced transparency by displaying metrics such as the ROI of marketing spend and labor productivity. Self-service reporting gives all company stakeholders greater visibility into the data without having to rely on the finance team to provide this information.
Bishop-Wisecarver and Danao will be recognized at the Manufacturing Leadership Awards Gala, which is to be held virtually on October 8, 2020.
