OverviewMHD Linear Slide System is ideal for many heavy mechanical handling industries, including robotic transfer systems in the welding industry and assembly processes in the automotive industry. The MHD comes as a kit with tracks and a set of four bearing blocks, comprised of left and right block assemblies.
Bearing Blocks Bearing blocks, each with three large integral crown rollers, are sealed for the life of the product for reduced friction and maintenance. This increases life and enables continuous operation. The top v groove bearing, which supports the heaviest load, is a tapered roller bearing for high capacity and rigidity. To remove play, rollers on the side and lower region are adjustable. The double-row tapered bearings are aligned in the direction of motion, allowing it to resist end loading and premature failure caused by axial loading.
Flat TracksThe MHD includes a pair of 100 by 40mm high precision flat tracks that are hardened and fully ground on all surfaces. Tracks of single lengths up to 1.4m can be joined for longer length applications.
PinionsAvailable in two sizes to suit MHD flat tracks with both straight cut and helical racks, pinions have a metric module tooth form with a 20 degree pressure angle. Pinions are made from high quality case hardened steel, and the teeth are precision ground to ISO 1328 grade 6.The pinions are supplied with keyless locking bushings in order to be securely fitted to a standard h8 toleranced shaft.
ROBOT TRANSFER SYSTEM
Heavy Payload Robot Assemby System
THE CHALLENGE:
Transferring a 2 tonne robot from a centralised station to a remote track by first rotating the holding station up to 360 degrees and lining up with a track is not without a number of technical challenges. Unless guides and drive racks are aligned exactly making the transfer would be difficult if not impossible without damaging the system.
